eBay & X-Men

Super heroes are a dime-a-dozen now a days... but some of  the coolest super heroes saving the day have to be the X-Men.  From the original gang to characters like Storm and Wolverine the X-Men have it all.  And we must mention Magneto when talking about the X-Men.  Magneto being the arch-enemy of Professor X and the X-men brought tons of trouble to the X-men team.

X-Men action figures have been around for many years now.  You can find a variety of these figures in several shapes and sizes.  With the coming of eBay finding a carded Wolverine or loose Magneto can be done with great ease.  This goes for all the X-Men action figures, as well.  If you want Storm, Wolverine or even a Toad action figure eBay will have it!

X-Men Facts

The X-Men first appeared in 1963, the brainchild of the legendary Stan Lee who had already imagined the characters of Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk and The Fantastic Four. Lee was looking for a different kind of super hero with different kinds of super powers as his previous three creations had all been infused with either radioactive, gamma or cosmic substances. He hit on the idea of natural mutation giving a group of people extraordinary powers and it basically took off from there, and lead to dozens of amazing characters being created over the course of the next 40 years.

The original cast of characters included Professor Charles Xavier (who had incredible mental powers), The Beast (whose sheer strength was counterbalanced with his literacy and eloquence), Iceman (who was basically the opposite of the Human Torch character in The Fantastic Four), Angel (who could fly having been blessed with wings from birth), Marvel (Girl who had fantastic telekinetic powers), and Cyclops (who had to always shield his deadly eye beams which were a deadly weapon).

The principal villain in the early days, and to this day in fact was Magneto an old friend of Xavier's who could control all metals with his gift of magnetism. Other regular villains in the early days were The Blob, Juggernaught and The Toad.

When The X-Men comic book was to be introduced it was very nearly called "The Mutants" as suggested by Stan Lee but the publisher rejected this as back in 1963 it was thought that the general comic book buying public wouldn't know what a Mutant was. After a bit more thought it was decided that because the characters had extra powers and their leader was Xavier they were to be called The X-Men and it just stuck.
